Yoga offers a refuge and an opportunity to seek deeper meaning in our lives. Fall is a time of letting go and going within, just as the trees let go of their leaves and withdraw their energy. Located in a serene, natural setting and nurtured by delicious, organic vegetarian meals, this immersion retreat provides the perfect environment to support and inspire your ongoing inner journey. Systematically learn and practice classical yoga methods, led by a team of experienced and knowledgeable instructors. Asana (yoga posture) classes are offered at all levels.

200 hr. certified Yoga Teachers: This program is eligible for elective credits towards the Mount Madonna Center 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Retreat Curriculum includes:

* Pranayama (breathing practices)
– beginning and intermediate (as taught by Baba Hari Dass)
* Dhyana (meditation)
* Asanas (yoga postures) – varied levels and styles
* Yoga philosophy/psychology
* Sanskrit chanting
* Intro to Ayurveda (sister science of yoga)
* Prana theory (subtle body energy)
* Creating/maintaining a home practice
* The classical principles and aim underlying all methods of yoga

The retreat schedule also allows time for self-reflection, journaling, and the practice of silence. To enhance your experience, treat yourself to a massage or ayurvedic session at our Chikitsa Shala Wellness Centre and by evenings end, relax in the wood-fired sauna.

This program is suitable for students who are looking to gain a more experiential and comprehensive understanding of all aspects of yoga in a peaceful retreat setting. It is also suitable for Yoga Teachers wishing to replenish or revitalize their current understanding and practice of yoga. For those new to yoga, we would recommend attending a Yoga Getaway weekend.
