From the Victoria area and the southern tip of Vancouver Island
Ferries from Swartz Bay, about a 40 minute drive north from Victoria, run every two hours from 7am to 9pm to Fulford Harbour on Salt Spring Island (a 35 minute ferry ride). From Fulford, follow the main road north towards Ganges, turning left on Blackburn Road (about ten minutes drive). The Centre is on the left 1 km down Blackburn Road.
If you are arriving at Victoria International Airport take a taxi (about $20) to Swartz Bay.

From Vancouver/Lower Mainland
There are two possible routes (see below) to Salt Spring Island from Tsawwassen ferry terminal. To get to Tsawwassen by car from Vancouver (about 40 minutes drive), take highway 99 south, accessed by Oak Street or Knight Street, and take the Tsawwassen/ferry exit after the tunnel. By public transit from the Vancouver area take the Canada Line/Sky Train to Bridgeport Station (very frequent) and the 620 bus from there to Tsawwassen ferry terminal (about 40 minutes). The bus is timed to connect with the ferry.

Buses run from Fulford Harbour to Ganges. Alight at Blackburn Road and walk about one kilometre to the Centre.
  • Tsawwassen to Long Harbour on Salt Spring Island. (Note: while this is a direct ferry (no transfer needed), sailings are infrequent, especially non-stop sailings; most make three stops en route.) From Long Harbour follow the signs to Ganges. Go through the town of Ganges, up the steep hill, and turn right on Blackburn Road (about five minutes drive from Ganges). The Centre is on the left 1 km down Blackburn Road.
  • An alternative to the Tsawwassen terminal, for those coming from West Vancouver and the Squamish region is the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo . From Vesuvius, follow the main road south towards Ganges (about a ten minutes drive).
