Quick background: Christie Roome comes to the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga with a background in community engagement, arts education, and program coordination. She has over 15 years of experience leading initiatives that build connection, creativity, and belonging, ranging from youth theatre festivals and mental health summits to collaborative events for local non-profits. Christie is also a certified hatha yoga and yoga nidra teacher with a deep appreciation for the philosophy and practice of yoga as a path to wholeness.
Out of work interests: An actor as well as a writer, Christie is currently developing a one-woman show and a memoir. When she’s not at the Centre, she teaches theatre to children, loves hiking Salt Spring’s trails, seeing live theatre, reading, and working in her garden. She’s endlessly curious about human stories and loves learning alongside others.
Favourite thing about the Centre: The people. They like to laugh! And, it’s a welcoming and value-driven community, with a genuine sense of purpose. I am grateful to be working on this beautiful land, with time to pause and reflect in the Satsang room or at Ganesh Temple.
