Ian Rusconi (he/him)

Secretary

B.A. Music

Ian first visited the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga in 2006 as a karma yogi at the Annual Community Yoga Retreat, and has returned almost every year since then, gradually assuming the recurring role of Latte Da coordinator. Absent the duties to our favorite snack bar in 2020 and 2021, Ian took on technical support and broadcast coordination for SSCY’s two years of online ACYR.

Attending Mount Madonna School from kindergarten through senior graduation, Ian grew up in the extended satsang, and has both worked and volunteered in various capacities for Mount Madonna Center, Mount Madonna School, Sankaṭ Mochan Hanumān Temple, Sri Rama Publishing, Sri Ram Ashram, and Pacific Cultural Center. In his life outside the satsang, Ian has diverse organizational experience in the US and Canada, from overseeing daily operations for multiple performance venues at Cabrillo College, to federal campaign management for the Green Party of Canada, to his current work as a private multimedia arts and design consultant.

To Ian, serving on the Dharma Sara Satsang Society Board represents an opportunity to further his engagement with a community that he considers a second home, help the Centre flourish as a modern institution, and honour the legacy of the community’s builders by — as Babaji was fond of encouraging in every way — continuing the work.

Ian lives off-grid on Xwe’etay (Lasqueti Island) in the Salish Sea.
