Acupuncture Treatments
Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that is found in many Eastern medicine traditions including Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been used for thousands of years to restore balance, reduce pain, and amplify the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Acupuncture is based on the understanding that Qi flows through pathways in the body known as meridians. When this flow of Qi becomes inhibited, blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to experiences of pain, emotional disharmony, tension, fatigue, or illness. By placing fine, sterile needles at specific points along these meridians, acupuncture helps to clear blockages, rebalance energy, calm the mind, and activate the body’s potent innate healing response.
This is a holistic approach to wellness. Treatments are designed to address not only the presenting discomfort, but also the emotional, mental, and energetic layers that influence all aspects of our being and how we relate within the world.
By treating the root cause of imbalance, acupuncture helps prevent issues from recurring and strengthens your resilience. Acupuncture trains your awareness of the subtle cues and signals your body gives each day. The body is always adapting and transforming as it orients toward wellness. By training your awareness of subtle changes, you learn to better meet the needs of your system and give it what is needed for balance and vitality.
Many people find acupuncture to be deeply relaxing. The needles are hair-thin and placed with great care; many patients feel little to no discomfort. Patients often describe feeling more grounded, more connected to themselves, and better able to navigate life with ease and clarity.
Acupuncture is an excellent support to western medicine and can be complementary to many other therapies and is covered by many insurance companies.
