InnerSpace Retreat: a weekend to explore and deepen the connection between land and spirit in community.
The land is our mother and teacher. She has given us life and all we need to survive. How might we come back into right relationship with her? What might we offer her in return?
On June 13-15, you’re invited to the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga to connect with the wisdom of your body, the healing power of the land, and a loving community of dreamers exploring this relationship. Guided by facilitators, wellness practitioners, musicians and land stewards, you will be invited to explore a variety of modalities – breathwork, yoga, ecstatic dance and sound bath- that celebrate this connection and support its integration. All taking place on a regenerative farm, and surrounded by the protected rainforest of the Salt Spring Conservancy.
We acknowledge our privilege to offer this retreat on the traditional and unceded territories of the SENĆOŦEN & Hul’q’umi’num speaking peoples on Salt Spring Island, BC.
About This Retreat
Food: Delicious lacto-vegetarian meals prepared by the karma yogis at the centre, with ingredients right from the Salt Spring Centre farm.
Accommodations: A forested campground with tent pads, outdoor showers with hot water, and clean outhouses, that is a three minute walk from the main house where meals are. Alternate arrangements can be made if you would prefer a room at the centre at an additional cost.
Travel: For those coming from Vancouver, the ferry from Tsawassan will be leaving on Friday at 10:25 and arriving at Long Harbour, Salt Spring Island at 1:20. We recommend taking the early ferry and booking your ferry one month in advance. Please note your ferry ticket is not included in your retreat ticket.
Community: There is availability for 35 people to attend the retreat. Most will be connected through the communities of the Flying Sage and Days of Lavender.
Substances: The focus of the retreat will be connecting with each other, the land and the healing modalities offered. The Centre of Yoga asks that any substances not be used on Centre property. This is also to ensure that our facilitators who are licensed professionals, are not liable. The focus of the retreat is remembering that the land, good food, community, movement etc. is all medicine.

🌿 More than a retreat, this is an exercise in Sacred Community 🌿
An interspiritual gathering rooted in the lineage of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba and centering the teachings of Bhakti Yoga and Buddhism.
Anchored with mantra, meditation, and ritual, the core practice of this retreat is Sacred Community. We practice seeing the Divine everywhere—in nature, in each other, and in ourselves—and we act in reverence to this Truth. In this way, we help each other awaken from separation and into the Heart of Love.
Practice
By gathering in Satsang (spiritual community) and engaging in sadhana (practice), we gain Darshan (vision) and behold this Love everywhere.
Meditation
Each morning starts with guided meditation. We practice letting go of clinging in the mind, so we can return to Loving-Awareness.
Kirtan
Each night ends with kirtan from experienced chant leaders. Kirtan is the practice of chanting the Holy Names— ancient Sanskrit mantras that reveal Loving-Awareness.
Ritual
Puja is woven throughout each day, and it is a prayer made with the entire body, mind, and senses. It is an honoring of the Love within, and it awakens Bhav (the devotional mood) and connects us to community.
Teachings
Our teacher, Ram Dass, honored all paths and had a special affinity for both Bhakti (devotional yoga) and Buddhism. Authentic teachings will be offered as a way to ground our experience in something deep, meaningful, and rooted in lineage.
Community
Sacred Community is “Loving-Awareness practiced together,” and it is rooted in the truth of Interdependence. Both the practice and the reward, we actualize Sacred Community through intention-setting, small group reflections, and shared meals.

On the celestial convergence weekend of Navratri, New Moon, Autumn Equinox and a Solar Eclipse – we enter a powerful threshold of release, balance and renewal.
This retreat is your invitation to meet the goddess not as archetypal symbol, but as a lived presence within you.
Through sacred rituals, embodied practice, and self inquiry – we will explore the Nine Faces of Goddess Durgā (Navdurgas)—each one a powerful reflection of our inner landscape. These divine aspects awaken fierce love, clarity, devotion, fearlessness, courage, and unwavering strength. Together, we will nurture Durgā’s Shakti and allow her to move through us, anchoring her energy in our bodies, hearts, and lives.
Aligned with this celestial time of harvest and shedding, we will ask:
- What are we carrying forward with gratitude?
- What is ready to be released to make space for new growth?
Through asana, pranayama, mantra chanting, storytelling, and shared rituals, participants will be supported to release fear and unhelpful patterns, and reconnect with their inner power.
You will also receive an Ayurvedic self-cleanse ritual kit and guidance for autumnal fasting and seasonal renewal, offering tangible ways to carry these teachings home.
This retreat is for those ready to honour the goddess within, deepen your connection to your sacred power, and carry this energy into your life.

Sarada Jagannath (MĀ Wellness & Yoga, Victoria)
Sarada is a devoted practitioner and lifelong student of the ancient Yogic tradition, embracing both the physical and spiritual aspects of this practice. By profession she is a Counselling Psychologist, Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and co-owner of Mā Wellness and Yoga.
Raised in a joint family in South India, she was deeply influenced by the wisdom of her grandfather, a respected Ayurvedic doctor, who imparted a deep understanding of holistic health and wellness from an early age, shaping her lifelong commitment to balanced living.
Sarada has cultivated a profound connection to the spiritual and healing arts from stories and rituals shared by her grandmother and great-grandmother. From childhood, the annual celebration of Navratri was a time of deep reverence and joy. Sarada fondly recalls the vibrant community gatherings, prayers, rituals, celebrations, Prasadam (blessed food) that marked the festival, reinforcing her devotion to Goddess Durgā. This festival, steeped in the worship of divine energy and transformation, has been a cornerstone of her spiritual journey, fostering a lifelong devotion to the goddess and the yogic path.
Sharing this ancient wisdom, rituals and devotion with the community and to honour the teachings of her ancestors in a way that blends traditions with modern life without losing its essence, is her passion.

Satya Jehman (Vedic Priestess Temple, Salt Spring Island)
Born into the Vedic lineage, Satya has been living the traditional path of yoga all her life – with a concentrated sadhana over the past 23 years. Her maternal line has been devoted to Goddess Durgā since time immemorial, transmitting an unbroken thread of devotion, protection, and fierce love. This sacred inheritance infuses all she offers — from ceremony and ritual to the embodied wisdom of Shakti.
Satya carries the gift of Agni Hotra and Vedic ritual by the grace of her ancestors from North India. She completed a year-long Yoga Apprenticeship in 2015 (Vijnana Yoga RYT200), and undertook a deep study in jnana yoga (Vedic scripture and self-inquiry) with her teacher in her ancestral homeland amid a trio of winters from 2011–2013. In 2016, she was initiated into the Sidh Kunjika Stotram – the highest call to Maha Shakti (Divine Mother) – further awakening her devotion to the Goddess. She apprenticed in fire ceremony with two of her teachers in North India and has returned to India regularly for the past 16 years to deepen her study and practice.
