Carolyn discovered the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga (SSCY) in the mid 90’s and has been visiting and or volunteering within the Satsang for over two decades. She arrived at the Centre for an annual community retreat and was graciously guided to the front of the room for her first morning of pranayama and meditation studies. She struggled to sit for the lengthy class and often opened her eyes to adjust her seat and debate how her hip flexors would survive the process. Babaji had quietly slipped into the class and was sitting within a few feet from her. From that moment forth she was committed to aspects of his teachings and a strong belief in the Satsang and senior teachers who created this incredible centre of peace and spiritual learning.
Carolyn has a university degree and a design background in fine art studies and landscape architecture. She is the owner operator of Mountainberrylandscaping Ltd. which has been servicing homeowners and businesses in the Whistler and Pemberton area for 25 years.
Carolyn conceived her beautiful daughter Sierra during her teacher training experience in 2003. Sierra has attended all but one community retreat since then and is now happily assisting with running the Latte Da cafe during the retreat.
The Satsang family (new and old) continues to inspire and infuse all aspects of her daily life through a focus on peace and communal harmony.
She believes in supporting one another through peaceful actions within our community.
As the Treasurer of the Centre and a business owner of many years, she attempts to focus with a level of grace and loving kindness on harmonious business acumen and financial security through the teachings of the practice: “Meditate everyday, work honestly, meet people without fear and PLAY!” ~ Baba Hari Dass.
