The fourth day (chaturthi) after a full or new moon is traditionally sacred to Ganesh, and the fourth day after the new moon of the month of Bhadra in Vedic astrology is the traditional date given for Ganesh’s birthday, or main festival day.
Ganesh, the cheerful elephant-headed deity, the symbol of both placing and removing obstacles on our spiritual path, is being celebrated on the morning of September 6, ending with a community lunch.
Schedule:
10:00 am – 10:30 am: Arati
10:30 am – 11:00 am: Walk around the Land with Ganesh
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: At temple for Puja and Kirtan
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Optional Lunch
