Amy

What brought you to the Centre, and in which area would you be serving? I was guided to the Centre after many years of feeling that I was contributing my energy to society in ways that did not align with my values. Living in a large city, and lacking genuine community showed me just how much I longed to be a part of something bigger than myself. I had been drawn to Yoga for most of my life, but yearned for a deeper understanding from teachers who embody the yogic lifestyle.

What would you like to share with the community while you are here? My enthusiasm and boundless energy for service, learning new things, outdoor activities and creating peace and calm through functional space/processes/organization and design (while making it fun!). A love of all things gardening – I can’t wait to get my hands dirty. I have many years of experience experimenting with making natural skincare and learning sustainable ways to live within the home/community. Sharing gentle hatha yoga classes, creating space, and active listening and dialogue are some of the spaces I can contribute.

What are the things you are looking for when living within a larger Satsang/community? Growing compassion by learning from others – new ideas and new perspectives. Laughter, shared experiences and memories. Service to community, learning to work together in harmony toward a common goal – peace, light and love.
