Unsweetened shredded coconut 3 cups (240g)
Ground turmeric 1.5 tsp (plus more to taste)
Ground cinnamon ½ tsp (plus more to taste)
Ground ginger ½ tsp (plus more to taste)
Ground cardamom 1/4 tsp
Black pepper Pinch
Maple syrup 3 Tbsp (45 ml)
Coconut oil, scoopable, not melted 2 Tbsp
Vanilla extract 1/4 tsp
Sea salt Pinch

Chocolate Drizzle

Ingredients  Amount
Chopped dark chocolate 1/3 cups
Coconut Oil  1-2 Tbsp
Maple syrup Splash
Sea salt  Pinch
Optional Vanilla extract Splash

Method

    1. Thoroughly wash your hands.
    2. Line a baking sheet or serving tray with parchment paper and set aside.
    3. Add shredded coconut and spices together, mixing thoroughly.
    4. Add in maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla, and salt.
    5. Roll up your sleeves and mix with your hands until the batter becomes sticky and everything is well incorporated.
    6. If the batter isn’t holding strongly together, consider adding more coconut oil or a splash of water until it does.
    7. Back tightly into an ice cream scooper, and plop onto your prepared sheet.
    8. To prepare the chocolate drizzle, add all your ingredients into a stainless-steel bowl set over a pot of water with 1-2 inches of water in it (you are setting up a double boiler). Your bowl bottle should not touch the surface of the water in the pot. Bring the water to a boil, stirring the contents of your bowl until melted. Add more coconut oil if it doesn’t seem thin enough to drizzle.
    9. When ready, drizzle your macaroons with chocolate. Alternatively, you can dip the bottoms into chocolate or both!
    10. Put in fridge to cool until the chocolate has hardened.
    11. Enjoy!

Store in an airtight container in the fridge. They are best served at room temperature, so we suggest pulling them out 30 minutes prior to serving.
